A point sits 3 steps right and 6 steps up from the origin. Written as an ordered pair $(x, y)$ , what are its coordinates?

Your answer(3, 6): six comes first because it's the larger of the two steps(6, 3): up comes before across because you'd naturally look up before you look sideways(3, 6): three steps across is x, six steps up is y, and x is always written first(-3, -6): moving away from the origin in either direction is counted as negative
